Moments That Matter

What if some of the moments that matter most don’t look important while they’re happening?

Think about your own life for a moment.

Some moments announce themselves.

A birth.

A death.

A diagnosis.

A wedding.

A new job.

A goodbye.

You know while you’re living them: This matters.

But I’m becoming increasingly curious about another kind of moment.

The seemingly ordinary ones:

A conversation you almost didn’t have.

Someone remembering your name.

A question asked at just the right time.

A stranger showing unexpected kindness.

A decision that seemed insignificant then but changed what happened next.

Someone seeing something in you that you couldn’t yet see in yourself.

Sometimes we recognize the significance immediately.

Sometimes it takes years.

And sometimes, I wonder if we never recognize it at all.

That has me wondering:

How many moments that matter might be hiding inside an ordinary week?

I don’t know.

But I’d like to find out.

And I’d like your help.

This week, notice what happens.

Don’t go searching for something profound.

Just pay attention.

Notice a conversation.

A choice.

A kindness.

An interruption.

A reaction.

A person you might normally pass by.

And if something in you whispers, There was something about that moment…

Don’t rush past it.

Stay with it.

Maybe even do something because you noticed.

Then come back and tell me what happened.

What did YOU notice this week that mattered?

Leave a comment below. Or if the moment is something you’d rather not share publicly, send me a message.

I’m going to be listening too.

And on Friday, I’ll share some of what we noticed together.

Notice what happens.
